Harshad Arora started his career as a model while pursuing a B.Sc. in Mathematical science from Delhi University (DU). He also holds a Master’s degree in Advertising and PR then eventually worked in a PR agency for one and a half years. While Harshad modeled for various TV commercials, print advertisements and ramp walks, he was constantly flooded with television offers.
Harshad soon arrived in Mumbai to try his luck with television shows. He made several cameo appearances in then-popular serials including Punar Vivah – Ek Nayi Umeed (May 2013), Arjun (June 2013), Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev (August 2013), and Tumhari Paakhi (November 2013) during a brief period of eight to nine months.
It was Harshad’s sheer hard work and talent that landed him a lead role in Muslim-based show called Beintehaa made under the Fortune Productions banner on Colors channel. He essayed the character of Zain Abdullah, a flamboyant and carefree rich brat who was forced to marry his first cousin, Aaliya Ghulam Haider (played by Preetika Rao). The gradual transformation from young lad to mature man was well-enacted by Harshad Arora making Zain Abdullah an overnight sensation.
Harshad’s constant growth as an actor outshone in various tracks of the show making him win several prestigious awards including Best Debut Actor (Zee Gold Awards 2014), Fresh New Face – Male (Indian Telly Awards 2014), Best Actor Popular (Indian Television Academy Awards 2014), and Best Actor (Kalakaar Awards 2015). The incredible on-screen chemistry between Harshad Arora and Preetika Rao earned them Best on Screen Couple (Indian Television Academy Awards, 2014). Harshad’s outstanding role of Zain Abdullah was voted as 10th most loved character on Indian TV in UK poll conducted by Raj Bhaadhan in 2015. The show was dubbed in Tamil as Alaipayuthey on Raj channel in September 2014. Due to its international popularity and fan base, the show was later launched in Pakistan on ARY channel, Bosnia, and Indonesia.
Harshad participated in his first reality TV show Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 6 (February 2015) on Colors channel. Though he was evicted in second week, the audience greatly enjoyed watching the “real” Harshad as a shy yet endearing and strong contender whose humility and simplicity won their hearts. Upon his elimination from Khatron Ke Khiladi, he gave a wonderful performance as Devdas in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya Valentine’s Day special episodic on Zing TV. The episode was so fantabulous that it had a rerun on Zing on popular public demand. Harhsad followed this by his first international cameo appearance as Zain Abdullah an extension of his original character in Beintehaa in an Indonesian show called Cinta Di Langit Taj Mahal (June-July 2015) which means “Love in the Sky Taj Mahal” on ANTV channel.
Apart from his acting accolades, Harshad was also voted as 19th sexiest man of Asia and 9th sexiest Indian Television actor in Sexy List poll conducted by Asjad Nazir in 2014. From being a suave model to the best actor, this man has proved with his dedication and acting skills that he is one of the finest actors Indian Television has ever seen.
